Welcome To New Life Church’s Blog with Pastor Richard F. Myers
September 5, 2011
It’s the beginning of the fall of 2011. How has your year been so far? If you’re like most Christians, it’s been a year of “ups” and “downs.” We’ve seen many exciting things happening in the spirit realm, from new salvation decisions to great testimonies of God’s faithfulness. But in the natural realm we’be been bombarded by loss of jobs, less spending power due to the higher cost of living. We’ve watch our savings dwindle and our retirement accounts take a beating. Then there’s the earthquakes, tornadoes and hurricanes we’ve seen in the last few months. All in all it has been the most interesting year for believers.
That’s is why our church has declared a time of “turn-around.” As of September first, we are declaring that the future holds the fulfillment of the promises declared in God’s Word for all those who will be obedient to His Word. We are encouraging all our members to “know it and do it!” That’s our theme for the rest of the year. We want our members to know what God’s Word says in regards to his laws, commandments and rules (know it) and then be obedient to what He says we need to do as Christians (do it).
In other words, “know it and do it” means that if God’s Word says to tithe, we’ll do it. If God’s Word says to offer our gifts and talents to him…we’ll do it! If God tells us to go here, do this or follow that path…we’ll know it and we’ll do it! I believe it is of utmost importance for the remaining part of this year and into next year, that we know what God’s Word is saying…and that we do it without all the excuses and reasons why we can’t. With everything that is going on in the world today…it will only be God that will get you through it all…and then only when you “trust and obey.”

This is really powerful and sobering! Powerful because during worship yesterday I felt in my spirit that the breakthrough of God’s power that we have been waiting for, is really and truly upon us. In the past we have wanted to see it so badly, and we have had moments where we have caught a glimpse, but this time it’s not going to just be a glimpse. It’s much bigger than that. It’s sobering because I know that when God’s power shows up, so does His refining fire. That means we need to expect a time of “cleansing”, a washing away of our “issues” and that means being transparent before the Lord. Thanks for posting this because it encourages me to “get ready”.

Hi Pastor and Sister Helen! I’m in agreement with what you say! I was reading 1Peter 1 this morning, and every word was coming alive in a greater way. Especially this…we have been redeemed with the INCORRUPTIBLE & PRECIOUS blood of Christ…who was foreordained even before the foundation of the world, BUT WAS MANIFEST IN THESE LAST TIMES FOR YOU… Jesus has already begun to manifest in and through us in greater ways. We are BEGINNING to see manifest what God has been orchestrating & aligning even as we’ve cried out to Him over the years. We so need to stay connected and know that it is not a time to hesitate. Those who are uncertain about what’s happening, (it’s okay to not understand everything), need to take courage -take it!

Praise God Pastor you talk about a revival. Well it had already begun in our church. Men on a Mission do agree with you on the revival in the land of NJ and all of the United States. And I believe it has all started here at New Life and I am happy to be a part of this revival. Now lets be honest this revival has cost us a thing or two in our lives. But as that famous saying goes “No Pain No Gain”. And what better gain that to be in God’s presence everyday. Lets all continue to be obediant and rest in this revival.
